Dead and Dying

It should’ve been me
buried in peace.
who became a memory,
resting with ease.

Ruminating the goodbye,
longing for solace.
No more tears to cry,
pass some love through breeze.

It’s been 8 winters,
heart’s still cold as ice.
Wrote melancholic songs,
thought it was just a phase.

The moonless nights, lonely dusk,
cloudy sunrise, rainy days.
I wouldn’t sulk,
If I feel your presence.

If I knew, grief is a torment.
Would’ve hugged you, up till
we suffocate and rot.
Yet, dead and dying, how woeful!
